Women 'more likely to look at wider aspects of finances'

Women are more likely to have a number of concerns over financial issues when they approach an adviser than men, according to a wealth management service.

AJS Wealth Management director Anna Sofat said that men are likely to approach advice services for information on a specific topic, such as mortgages and retirement planning.

She added that woman also tend to more cautious over their finances than their male counterparts.

He explained: "Typically women tend to come with the view that they want things looked at overall.

"There may be things not quite right in several areas, or at least they feel that they are not quite right."

Recent figures from the Office of National Statistics found that seven in ten adults in Britain have some form of savings and investments.

Around 70 per cent of people have money saved in deposit accounts and other savings, with those in the south-east of England more likely to have investments. ADNFCR-1054-ID-18497715-ADNFCR
